Kiwi Memo privacy policy

Last updated 6 October 2026

This policy covers the Kiwi Memo iPhone app, published by MyCEO (myceo.co.nz), a New Zealand business. It is written under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

The short version. Kiwi Memo does not collect any information about you. Your memos stay on your iPhone. There is no account, no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the app does not use a network connection.

Where your memos are kept

The app saves your memos only in a database on your iPhone. It never sends them to us or to anyone else. We cannot see, read, recover or delete your memos.

iPhone backups

If iCloud Backup or a computer backup is turned on, iOS may include Kiwi Memo's data in your own backup, as it does for most apps. Apple handles that backup under your Apple account, or it sits on your computer. We cannot see it.

Backup and export files

A backup or export file is made only when you ask for one, through the iOS share sheet. You decide where it goes, such as Files, iCloud Drive, AirDrop or Mail. The file is plain readable text and is not encrypted, so keep it somewhere safe. From then on it is looked after by the place you chose, under that service's own terms.

Your notebook name

If you add a name, it stays on your iPhone and is used only for the title at the top of the app.

Face ID or passcode lock

If you turn on the lock, iOS checks your face or your passcode. Kiwi Memo only learns whether the check passed. It never receives or stores face data or your passcode.

Deleting your memos

Deleted memos stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days and are then removed from your iPhone. If you delete the app, iOS deletes its data from that phone. Memos cannot be recovered after that unless you made a backup file or restore an iPhone backup.

Children

Kiwi Memo collects no data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask us whether we hold personal information about you, and ask to see or correct it. Because the app sends nothing to us, the only information we could hold is what you choose to send us in an email.

If you are not happy with how we handle a privacy question, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

If you write to us

If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and we use it only to reply.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes what it does with information, we will update this page and the date at the top before that version of the app is released.
